Everyday Makeup Routine

Hey ya’ll! Since I’ve been home I’ve had time to do a little makeup shopping and try out some new products.  I have found a routine of some really great products that I wanted to share!

makeup-1

First up is face makeup. For myself, if my skin isn’t properly nourished, then my makeup doesn’t apply as easily. After doing my normal skincare in the bathroom, there are two steps I leave for right before my makeup.  First I spray my Mario Badescu Rosewater Spray onto my face.  This spray can act as a toning hydrating spray and can also set your makeup (but I will get to that later).  I spray it on my face before my makeup to refresh my skin and nourish it.  Next I moisturize my skin using my Clinique dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel.  This has been my favorite for as long as I can remember.  My mom has always used it, so when she introduced it to me I fell in love.  I have combination oily skin that is sensitive and acne prone.  This moisturizes my skin while not causing any extra oil. While my moisturizer is sinking in, I like to apply a thick layer of chap stick to make sure my lips are moisturized.  My all time favorite moisturizer is Rosebud Salve.  Next up is is primer.  Because of my skin, I have always loved silicone based primers. I have tried the Tarte Poreless Primer, Benefit Porefessional, Too Faced Hangover primer, and most recently tried this Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser.  I love it! It is silicone based and really glides onto my skin.  It is also from the drugstore and very affordable!  Now to foundation.  I switch foundations all the time. Whenever I finish a foundation, I like to try a new one.  Over the summer, I was obsessed with the Tarte BB cream. It was light, full coverage, and long lasting. When I was at Ulta recently, I decided I would  try the Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation since I had such great luck with the BB cream.  I love this foundation! Yes, it is thick.  But the coverage is amazing! And it really is long lasting! I will definitely repurchase this one.  Next up is concealer. I use the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer . This concealer has been a favorite for years.  I find myself trying other concealer, but always seem to come back to this one! It is also from the drugstore! makeup-6

To set is all, I use the Airspun Translucent Powder.  Yet again, this is a long time favorite.  It’s great for baking, and overall setting my whole face. I have also gotten my mom and sister hooked on this powder!

Next up is brows. For Christmas I was gifted the Benefit Bigger and Bolder Brow Kit. I love this kit! I use the palmade to fill in my brows, I set it with the gel, and highlight under the brow with the high brow.  It’s three easy steps that make my brows look fantastic!

Next up is eyes! Some days I wear eye shadow, and some days I don’t.  When I do, I always start with the Clinique Chubby Eye Stick.  This one is a beautiful champagne color, and helps intensify the shadow color and keep my eye makeup lasting all day. For shadow, I switch day to day.  Recently, with traveling to and from school, I have really been loving palletes. The Naked 3 and Naked Smokey  Pallete have been my recent favorites. I also carry three of my all time favorite singles with me; Urban Decay’s sin and Mac’s Ploof and Cork. I can combine all three shadows for one look, or I combine each of those shadows with other palletes to create new looks.  For liner, I love the Wet and Wild Proline Felt Tip Liner. This liner is great.  It has a sharp felt tip and an intense black color.  To top it all off, it is only $3.99 at the drugstore! Usually, I only wear liquid liner on the top and that’s it for liner. Once in a while, I will line my lower water line.  If I do, I always use the Marc Jaobs Highliner Gel Crayon Eyeliner.  It doesn’t smudge on the water line, and keeps its color intensity all throughout the day. Last but not least for the eyes is mascara.  Recently I have been loving the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. It super black, and doesn’t clump my lashes.  It’s also very affordable!

After eyes it’s time for highlight, blush and bronzer/contour.  A super recent purchase has been the Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Pallete. It is so pretty! It has a blush, bronzer, and highlight. It makes me very excited for spring…!  When I’m not using the bush in the glow pallete, I’m either using my Wet and Wild Color Icon Blushes or my Nars Orgasm Blush.  The Wet and Wild blushes are amazing! I reviewed them when the first came out on this blog. Click here to see more about the whole line! The Nars blush is also a favorite.  It is more of a rosy color that is great for this time of year! For bronzer, I love the Two Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer.  It is a great color for fair skin tones, and it isn’t too orange or muddy looking! For Christmas I was gifted the Becca Highlighter in Moonstone.  To say it is a good highlighter is an understatement. This highlighter is gorgeous! I also have the matching liquid highlighter. It lays beautifully on the skin, and makes for a gorgeous dewy completion.

Last but not least is lips! All of 2016, I have been loving matte liquid lipsticks! It seems like every brand has come out with a liquid lipstick this year.  Some of my favorites has been NyxTwo FacedTarteColourPop, and Kat Von D.

And of course, to set it all I will spray my Mario Badescu Rosewater spray to finish everything off!

And that’s all there is to it! Of course some days I go all out, and some days I throw on a lip balm and go. I hope you all enjoyed!

Until Next Time
